Been a while..

Posted by Chris Murphy On March - 1 - 2010

Its been a while since I’ve posted. Not sure how many people actually follow this  but I figured I would say hello and give some updates on everything. The wife and I unfortunately still havent found the space in our schedule to start booking again. I REALLY miss the local scene and booking. I really hope that we can get back into it. Work seems to be the big hurdle to get over right now. Things the last few weeks have been really good screen printing wise. If your band or your business or friends band etc needs T-shirts please send them our way :) The more we can earn  printing the more time we can take off from work and  start booking again :)

(If you were curious while I am typing this I am listening to EYENINE (www.myspace.com/eyenine) Honestly I hate almost all rap/hip hop, or rather anything on the radio or mainstream. If you havent heard eyenine go take a listen)

Other than the snow we had the other day I am really getting excited about spring coming. I’m not looking forward to getting back to landscaping season but I am looking forward to better weather and enjoying life outside. I am also looking forward to grabbing the camera and getting out to the Rochester skate park to do some photo sessions. Everyone down there was great and fun to shoot.

Something AWESOME happened the other day when the wife and I were shopping at Goodwill. I discovered they had a large format Epson 2200 printer for sale. Came with new in the package ink and the kicker…. it was only $20. Normally this printer is $400 used and sold for about $800 new.  So you might be asking.. yeah thats a good deal… but why would I care? well its large format so it means i can start printing screens  that are 13×17 (full shirt) I still have to save up some more cash to get the attatchments on my press to actually print the images on the shirts… the hurdle of having the cash to buy the printer is bypassed though .. which is huge. Such a blessing.  I brought the printer home and did a few cleaning runs and tested it out. The printer is perfect. Such a good score.

Well, I think that about covers any new developments in the Life of Chris and Megan from Tiny Giant.  I’ll try to start updating things more often :) Work and a recent addiction to Call of Duty MW2 (ps3) have side tracked me from updating the site and getting things done.  The playstation network has a problem and is down so I had nothing better to do .. So now you get to read this :)

Thanks again for all the support! Take care! Keep it Brootal and Post some comments!

A walk around the Neighborhood…

Posted by Chris Murphy On October - 30 - 2009

I decided  to bring the camera along with the wife and I when we were walking (thats alot of w’s) the dog. I’ve been lack luster about the whole photography thing since we’ve stopped doing my shows. I miss shooting the shows and doing more with the camera. So today, after about a month of not really doing much with it, I tossed a new battery in and slung it over my shoulder.   Most of the Foliage is gone but there were a few trees still holding on, just enough to make the walk enjoyable. Fall is a great season. Its warm, dry and smells like dying trees… which oddly enough is an enjoyable scent.. Probably not if you were a tree though.

Here are a few shots from the walk: (you can click any of them to view the rest from the walk on my flickr.

Awesome Colors in Strafford, NH

Posted by Chris Murphy On October - 5 - 2009

I used to live about 15min north of this spot and one year while driving past it to work i saw it in full peak colors. It looked like the trees were on fire. I might stop by the spot again in a week to see if it colors up a little more.  If you are traveling up rt 126 toward barnstead you’ll see the spot about a mile or so from the post office in strafford. Its usually only colored for a short time so you need to check it out soon.

A Wedding!

Posted by Chris Murphy On September - 6 - 2009

Well My father remarried today at prescot park, in Portsmouth, NH. The gardens were amazing and smelled wonderful. The weather was perfect and the setting was superb. This was the first wedding I’ve shot and unfortuneately I think I left the camera on the aperture setting and it resulted in a ton of blurry pics :( I did get a bunch of really nice ones but I would have liked all of the pictures to be sharp. Rookie mistake. I did get more than enough for them to put together a nice album. I wish the both of them the best of luck and a forever relationship.

Here are some of the pics from the day:

Hike Up Blue Job Mountain.

Posted by Chris Murphy On September - 2 - 2009

Despite the mountian’s eerie similarity to a racy act.. the mountain is actually very nice. Its a super short hike.. I bet it took us 30-45min to get up it.. if that. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the view was. There was a tiny bit of humidity on the horizon but the over all the view was amazing. At the top of the mountain there was a fire observation tower that you could climb up to get a better grasp on the view. I took a panoramic of the view that came out awesome. We brought the dog up with us and I think he was even surprised at how short of a hike it was. Last hike he went on with us was up Mt. Chocorua which was 4000ft 2.5hours one way.. we also did it in like 80F weather with killer humidity that completely ruined the view , or at least the ability to take great pictures up there. The weather was dry and cool and perfect for hiking. If you are looking for a nice short hike that is still a workout (very steep at parts) then check out Blue Job Mountain in Farmington, NH.

Portsmouth, NH

Posted by Chris Murphy On August - 12 - 2009

My wife and I ran around Portsmouth today putting up flyers and dropping them off anywhere I could for the show friday. While in-route walking around downtown,  we stumbled upon a lady playing a saw. She used a bow from violin and stroked the saw to make this odd pitch that she bent to make some cool sounding music.  it was quite amazing and probably pretty rare to see. Looks like she makes a couple bucks doing it  as her violin case had some cash in it.  I snapped the picture as we stood there for a minute on our way to bullmoose music and the identity skate shop.
Tomorrow the wife and I have to landscape then print some shirts for a new clothing line called Confident Soles. The two guys that are starting the line are great and have a great vision of positive idea on fashionable designs. Most of the sayings are empowering and witty.

I’m off to get ready for bed. I’ll catch you all on the flip side :)
